GALVESTON – A Galveston County woman has filed a slip and fall lawsuit against Dollar Tree, Inc.

Lavern Mitchell’s suit, which was filed on Dec. 3 in the Galveston County Court at Law No. 3, claims that Mitchell “slipped and fell on a puddle of a brownish foreign substance” on the floor at the defendant’s Texas City store last Sept. 15.

The plaintiff deduced that “it had the consistency and overall look of dishwashing detergent.”

Court papers further claim that Dollar Tree misrepresented to Mitchell that its corporate office would contact her to attempt to resolve any claim she may have against the store.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Mark Aronowitz of Texas City.
