HOUSTON – A small business accuses a former employee stealing its ideas and trade secrets.

Abdul Aziz International, LLC filed a breach of contract lawsuit against Asma Raffat; Asma Investments, LLC; and Star Vapes in the Harris County 55th District Court on Dec. 10.

Raffat reportedly worked for the plaintiff for approximately six months this year.

According to court filings, she used the information her ex-employer entrusted to her following her exit to start her own business and caused its mall lease to be canceled abruptly.

Calling Raffat’s actions a “betrayal,” the complainant asserts that it suffered heavy losses.

Consequently, it seeks unspecified monetary damages.

Anis Damani of Houston is representing the plaintiff.
