Batting practice for man results in head injury, litigation

Lawsuits

HOUSTON – Claiming that he sustained a head injury at a batting cage last year, Harris County resident Brandon Gonzalez has pursued legal action against the baseball facility.

Gonzalez filed a lawsuit against Perfect Practice LLC, doing business as D-Bat West Houston, on Dec. 7 in the Harris County 269th District Court.

According to recent documents, Gonzalez was picking up balls to put back in a pitching machine following a hitting session on June 28, 2017 when another customer activated the machine.

A ball reportedly struck the plaintiff in his temporal region and rendered him unconscious.

He faults the defendant for not taking any measures to ensure his safety.

Consequently, Gonzalez seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Loren G. Klitsas of the law firm Klitsas & Vercher, P.C. in Houston is representing the complainant.
