HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges new floors in her house need to be replaced because they were not properly installed.

Juanita Ballard filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in the Harris County District Court against 1516 Construction Services LLC alleging breach of contract, negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August 2017, flood waters damaged her home on Sage King Drive in Houston and she contracted the defendant to renovate her house and install hardwood flooring.

The plaintiff alleges the hardwood floors were installed incorrectly and they buckled and cupped. She alleges they are unsafe and must be removed and replaced.

The plaintiff holds 1516 Construction Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly breached their contract by failing to properly install the floors.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of less than $100,000. She is represented by Martha Adams Lawler in Houston.
