Provost Umphrey fulfills Christmas wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses

Pu

BEAUMONT, Texas – Trial law firm Provost Umphrey L.L.P. will help bring extra Christmas cheer to teens and young children facing life-threatening illnesses as the firm hosts Santa on Dec. 19 for a special gift delivery.

As part of its annual Christmas community outreach project, the attorneys and staff at Provost Umphrey are fulfilling the Christmas dreams of families with children diagnosed with cancer or other terminal illnesses. Participants were selected after letters were sent to schools in Jefferson County notifying the communities about the project; interested parents then contacted the firm. The students were asked to provide a wish list of what they would like for Christmas.

Participants include children from schools all over Jefferson County, including Hamshire-Fannett, Nederland, Port Arthur and Sabine Pass. Their ages range from high school to elementary, and all suffer from severe health problems.

“We enjoy working with our community to provide for the Christmas wish lists, but Santa deserves all the credit. We are thrilled to have him attend to deliver the gifts to the children,” said Joe Fisher, Provost Umphrey L.L.P. managing partner. “It’s a joy to see a child’s face light up when they receive their presents directly from Santa.”

The event starts at 11 a.m. with holiday cookies and other treats under the Christmas tree in the Provost Umphrey lobby, 490 Park Street, Beaumont.

The Provost Umphrey family of attorneys and staff have a tradition of helping those in need every Christmas. Last year, the firm adopted the third-grade class at Staff Sergeant Lucian Adams Elementary School in Port Arthur after Hurricane Harvey displaced students and their families.
