HOUSTON – Alleging that he was injured earlier this year while riding a malfunctioning elevator at an entertainment venue, Harris County resident Tony Hunter has filed a lawsuit.

Hunter blames the Mar. 23 incident at Arena Theatre on its owner, The Arena Group, L.P., in the personal injury suit filed on Dec. 18 in the Harris County 333rd District Court.

The plaintiff explains that the elevator “fell sharply” and “jostled (him) within its walls,” asserting he did not know that it had any defects prior to embarking it.

“Clearly, at least one of the defendant’s employees was or should have been aware of the dangerous condition,” court filings state. “Despite the knowledge, the defendant neither made the area safe nor warned invitees.”

Consequently, Hunter seeks close to $70,000 in damages.

He is represented by the PM Law Firm in Humble.
