HOUSTON – A medical technology company is accused in a state district lawsuit of age and sex discrimination.

Sandra Parr, of Missouri City, brought the suit against Draeger, Inc. on Dec. 20 in the Harris County 281st District Court, accusing the defendant of preferential treatment towards male employees and individuals younger than the age of 40.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Parr explains that she and her family relocated to Houston in 2015 in response to Draeger moving its regional headquarters to the area.

The defendant terminated the complainant as marketing director last year purportedly not “being a fit with the organization.”

According to the suit, Draeger terminated more female employees than it did male ones. The respondent reportedly retained younger workers, the original petition adds.

Consequently, Parr seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by the law firm Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
