GALVESTON – Ford Motor Co. has been sued over a 2016 motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a father of three, recent Galveston County District Court records show.

The family of the late David Arthur Young filed a lawsuit against FMC in the Galveston County 56th District Court on Dec. 20.

According to the complaint, the widower was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion in Santa Fe on the morning of Dec. 20, 2016 when the vehicle “suddenly stalled without warning and David Arthur Young was rear-ended” by another motorist.

The elder Young was killed despite being “properly restrained,” the original petition says.

FMC is faulted for manufacturing a vehicle with a design defect.

Consequently, Young’s children seek unspecified monetary damages.

They are represented by the law firm Pierce Skrabanek, PLLC in Houston.
