HOUSTON – The Houston Astros have filed a petition to confirm an arbitration award against the Nola Poboys Franchise.
The petition was filed Jan. 4 in Harris County District Court and seeks to collect $50,000 in damages.
According to the petition, Nola Poboys breached a sponsorship agreement, dated March 22, 2017. Nola was to pay the Astros a fee of $75,000. An outstanding balance of $50,000 still remains.
The Astros sought arbitration. On July 26, the ball club was awarded $50,000, which Nola allegedly refuses to pay.
The Astros are represented by Giles Kibbe.
