HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he was injured after cataract surgery because of the negligence of medical facility and two physicians.
Kenneth Marsh and Sabrina Darling-Marsh filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the Harris County District Court against Joseph A. Zarzour, MD; Pradanya Haldankar, MD; and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege on Dec. 29, 2016, Kenneth Marsh underwent cataract surgery performed by defendants. The suit states Marsh was placed under general anesthesia for the procedure and once it was completed and he was extubated, he lost oxygen. The suit states he was reintubated but had already sustained injuries, and later had multiple cardiac arrests and at least one stroke.
The plaintiffs hold Zarzour, Haldankar and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to timely recognize Marsh should not be placed under general anesthesia, failed to properly treat him after complications arose and failed to recognize the breathing tube used on him was faulty.
The plaintiffs seek actual and exemplary damages, with interest, costs and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. They are represented by Joseph K. Jones and Sean Koch of Sloan Law Firm PC in Houston.
