SHERMAN – A Grayson County man alleges that he was wrongfully terminated from his security position with a Sherman hospital, recent federal court records show.

Danny French is suing Wilson N. Jones Memorial Hospital, doing business as Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center.

In court papers filed on Jan. 4, French claims the defendant discriminated against him because of his age.

Though originally hired by the hospital to fill a security supervisor position in February 2015, the suit says, French “was subsequently asked to self-demote to a security officer position” for a man 20 years his junior.

French adds that he was disparaged for his age.

He suffered work-related injury while restraining a violent patient in May 2017, to which the respondent failed to assist him with, the suit says.

The medical center fired the plaintiff on May 16, 2017 for supposedly falsify his employment history. French argues that was “untrue.”

Consequently, he seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

The law firm Scott | Perez LLP in Dallas is representing the complainant.
