Court room

Littler Mendelson P.C. issued the following announcement on Jan. 2.

Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed Rob Friedman as office managing shareholder (OMS) of the firm’s Austin, Dallas and Fayetteville offices. Friedman succeeds Earl “Chip” Jones, who will continue to focus on his full-time practice and serve as co-chair of the firm’s Whistleblower and Corporate Ethics Practice Group.

“Chip has been instrumental in the growth of the Dallas, Austin and Fayetteville offices and we thank him for his hard work and many contributions as OMS,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “Rob is the ideal individual to step into this role. He has been involved in a number of firm leadership positions and is also an exceptional attorney. We are confident that he will continue to expand Littler’s presence throughout the Texas and Arkansas regions, as well as nationwide.”

Friedman said, “I look forward to building on Chip’s accomplishments and working with our talented teams in Texas and Arkansas to continue to provide our clients with excellent legal representation and client service.”

Board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Friedman advises and represents employers in virtually every aspect of the employee-employer relationship, and regularly represents clients before state and federal courts and arbitrators. Friedman is one of the nation’s leading authorities on employment arbitration matters, and has successfully argued arbitration enforcement issues before state and U.S. Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also devotes a significant part of his practice to litigating complex wage and hour collective and class actions in state and federal courts across the country.

Active in the legal community, Friedman is on the Federal Labor Standards Subcommittee of the American Bar Association and is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and French-American Bar Association. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers© since 2008 and The Best Lawyers in America© since 2012.
