HOUSTON – A Katy ophthalmologist is facing a medical malpractice lawsuit from a patient who claims to have lost vision in his right eye, recent Harris County District Court records show.

In the suit filed on Jan. 11 in the Harris County 295th District Court, Allen Jones asserts that Dr. Randolph Whitford improperly diagnosed and treated him following a cataract extraction procedure in late 2016.

According to court documents, Jones suffered persistent pain and blurred vision after the initial procedure only to be ultimately diagnosed with endophthalmitis, or an inflammation of the interior of the eye.

The suit lists Eyes Over Texas Eye Care, P.A. as a co-defendant.

Consequently, Jones seeks unspecified monetary damages.

He is represented by Shane R. Kadlec of the Law Office of Shane R. Kadlec in Houston.
