HOUSTON – A state district lawsuit alleges that a local chiropractor sexually assaulted a medical assistant during an examination late last year.

The medical assistant, Dana De Los Santos, brought the suit against her superior, Dr. Michael Khalil, in the Harris County 189th District Court on Jan. 10.

In the original complaint, De Los Santos accuses Khalil of pressing his private parts against her while he checked her for hip pain last Dec. 5. Khalil reportedly “sang, out loud, ‘I have VD,’” within earshot of the employees at Elite Chiropractors.

The plaintiff confided in another employee about the incident in question, stating she suffered an anxiety attack and could not work.

De Los Santos adds that she received a video recording of the event and was told “to stop talking about the sexual assault and watched the way she talked about sexual harassment.”

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Peter Costea of the Law Office of Peter Costea in Houston.
