GALVESTON – J.C. Penney Corp., Inc. has been sued for a shopper’s slip and fall two years ago at its League City store.

Sandra Gonzalez Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against the retailer on Jan. 15 in the Galveston County 10th District Court, stating that a round object on the floor near the registers caused the Jan. 15, 2017 incident.

The plaintiff reportedly suffered a head laceration.

“The round object on the floor created a foreseeable risk that a customer in the store would slip, trip and fall on the round object on the floor and fall,” court papers say.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Corey Gomel of the law firm Gomel & Associates, P.C. in Houston.
