HOUSTON – An on the job incident last year at a liquefaction facility in southwest Louisiana is the subject of a Texas man’s state district lawsuit.

Harris County District Court records show that Curtis Riley initiated litigation against the facility’s owner, Houston-based Cameron LNG, LLC, on Jan. 17 in the 189th District Court.

In the 6-page complaint, Riley claims that he was working at the Cameron property on Mar. 13, 2018 “when a misplaced crane mat suddenly and unexpectedly caused him to fall.”

“Due to the dangerous and unforeseen placement of the crane mat, the plaintiff suffered severe injuries to his right leg and wrist,” court papers assert. “The plaintiff’s injuries caused him to fall down a set of stairs resulting in further bodily injury.”

The suit lists Mammoet USA South, Inc. as a co-defendant.

Consequently, Riley seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by the law firm Tilton & Tilton LLP in Houston.
