HOUSTON – An alleged robbery at a Burlington Coat Factory store in northwest Harris County almost two years ago is the subject of a woman’s state district lawsuit.

In the suit filed against Burlington Coat Factory of Texas, L.P. on Jan. 22 in the Harris County 295th District Court, Esmeralda Dominguez asserts that she was injured “as a result of an attempt to protect her family” when a group of armed robbers held the defendant’s business up on May 22, 2017.

Dominguez was not injured as a result of being harmed by any of the four robbers, but “instead as a result of shielding her family because the defendant did nothing to protect them, court filings state.

According to the plaintiff, the establishment lacked any sort of visible determent.

Consequently, Dominguez seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by the law firm Mestemaker & Straub in Houston.
