HOUSTON – A Harris County woman injured while working alleges that her employer failed to adequately staff the site.

Evalina Miles filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the Harris County District Court against Stone Gate Senior Living LLC, et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 1, 2017, she was in the course and scope of her employment with defendants and was injured while attempting to help a patient back into her chair. She alleges she sustained injuries which resulted in pain, mental anguish and physical impairment and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Stone Gate Senior Living LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately staff the job site, failed to provide adequate training to their employees and failed to adequately supervise the job site.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Jack Todd Ivey of Ivey Law Firm PC in Houston.
