SHERMAN – A Sherman consumer alleges a Colorado debt collector called him almost two dozen times in the course of 10 minutes in one day and caused actual damages.

Jason Pruitt filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Virtuoso Sourcing Group LLC alleging repeated violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 29, 2018, he received 20 calls from defendant within 10 minutes. As a result, he alleges he has suffered and continues to suffer from anger, anxiety, emotional distress, fear, frustration and embarrassment.

The plaintiff holds Virtuoso Sourcing Group LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly violated the FDCPA by causing a phone to ring repeatedly with the intent to annoy and harass him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, costs of litigation, attorney’s fees, punitive damages and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Jody B. Burton of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
