JC auto collision suit against settles before trial

BEAUMONT – An automobile collision lawsuit settled days before its trial date.

Seeking exemplary damages, Michael Ray Walzel filed suit against Beau Jenkins and Pason Systems USA on Sept. 16, 2016, in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the original petition, on April 17, 2015, Jenkins was traveling westbound on Folsom and crossed over into the eastbound lanes, causing a series of crashes.

The suit was slated to go to trial on Monday, Jan. 28 but settled beforehand, according to a courthouse official.  

Beaumont attorney David Starnes represents the plaintiff.

Judge Baylor Wortham, 136th District Court, presided over the case.
