HOUSTON – A pair of assisted living facility operators have been named in an employee’s sexual harassment lawsuit, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Loren Perez asserts in the 8-page suit filed against Lifewell Senior Living, LLC and Falcon Point Labor, LLC on Jan. 28 in the Harris County 61st District Court that her supervisor sexually harassed her following her June 2017 hiring as a caregiver associate.

The supervisor, Otis Thorpe, reportedly made “suggestive and sexual comments” towards Perez and asked her out on dates to which she refused.

Court papers further explain that the defendants attempted to separate the plaintiff and Thorpe, who is not a party in the litigation, to no avail. According to the original petition, Thorpe continued to have an intimidating effect on Perez.

“Thorpe’s actions and the inaction of the defendants made the workplace nearly unbearable as a hostile workplace,” the suit says.

Perez asserts that there are others who Thorpe “treated this way.”

Consequently, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

The law firm Peckham Martin, PLLC in Houston is representing the complainant.
