HOUSTON – A woman injured in a fall at a Houston movie theater alleges she was not warned of the danger in a sidewalk that caused her to fall.

Christine Gonzalez filed a complaint on Jan. 29 in the Harris County District Court against GPM Houston Properties LTD, Maya Properties Inc. and Premiere Cinema Corp. alleging premises liability

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 1, 2017, she was attending a film screening at Premier 15 Greenpoint cinemas in Houston. She alleges as she passed the box office when the movie was over, her left foot caught on an expansion joint in the concrete sidewalk, causing her to lose her balance and fall. She alleges her left knee, left foot, left wrist, face and skull "directly impacted" the concrete floor.

The plaintiff holds GPM Houston Properties LTD, Maya Properties Inc. and Premiere Cinema Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to use ordinary care to inspect the premises and failed to warn of the condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, with interest, costs and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Hiren P. Patel of Patel Ervin PLLC in Houston.
