HOUSTON – A Houston doctor is being sued by a patient over allegations his negligence during a procedure caused a fracture to her right orbital wall.

Juana Rocio Quinones filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the Harris County District Court against Dr. Cuong Xuan Nguyen alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 15, 2017, she underwent a balloon plasty procedure for sinusitis under the care of the defendant. The suit states during the procedure, the defendant transected the right medial and inferior rectus muscle and caused a right orbital wall fracture.

The plaintiff holds Nguyen responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to follow the proper procedure for performing the procedure.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief and law and in equity to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Alton C. Todd and Seth Mitchell Park of The Law Firm of Alton C. Todd in Friendswood.
