HOUSTON – A Harris County man’s state district lawsuit claims that Walker Engineering, Inc. used “restructuring” as a front to fire the plaintiff because of his age.

Charles Blanton filed the suit against the electric business on Feb. 13 in the Harris County 295th District Court, stating that the defendant terminated older employees “who were making more money” but retained their younger colleagues.

Walker employed Blanton from November 2010 to January 2017.

“When Blanton was fired, there was plenty of work and Walker was even hiring employees,” the complaint explains. “Walker received no complaints about Blanton’s job performance and Blanton always performed his assigned tasks.”

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Daniel R. Dutko of the law firm Rusty Hardin & Associates, LLP in Houston.
