HOUSTON – A North Carolina-based healthcare diagnostics company has been sued over what a Harris County woman asserts was a poorly performed blood draw.
In a lawsuit filed against Laboratory Corporation of America, doing business as LabCorp, on Feb. 14 in the Harris County 333rd District Court, Melanie Simpson explains that an employee of the defendant drew her blood on Feb. 16, 2017 but failed to address to her complaints.
The procedure reportedly caused Simpson to lose consciousness and be rushed to the hospital. She ultimately was diagnosed with “Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and neuropathy” and is unable to use her left arm, the suit says.
The unidentified female employee is as a co-defendant in the litigation.
The Midani Law Firm in Houston is representing Simpson.
