HOUSTON – A Pasadena hair salon employee claims in a state district lawsuit that she was physically assaulted on the job.

In her lawsuit against Regis Corp., doing business as TGF Hair Cutters #60447, Ninfa Garcia accuses her purported supervisor, Martha Merced, of choking her and throwing her to the floor of the defendant’s business located at 5689 Fairmont Pkwy. in Pasadena.

According to Harris County 215th District Court filings dated Mar. 4, Merced verbally berated Garcia prior to the subject incident for not immediately performing a task. The plaintiff adds that the attack caused her to hit her head on a hard surface and go into unconsciousness.

When she regained consciousness, the original petition says, she notified her manager and the Pasadena Police Department.

Garcia asserts that she suffers headaches, dizziness, blurry vision, nausea, and “pan consistently radiating to her right shoulder” because of the assault. Merced is not party in the litigation.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Wisam Ghuneim of The Ghuneim Law Firm in Pasadena.
