SHERMAN — A Grayson County woman is suing an energy company, alleging she was wrongly accused of falsifying information while she was pregnant and terminated.

Sarah Blakeley filed a complaint Feb. 27 in Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Atmos Energy Corporation, alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, Blakeley was a meter reader for Atmos starting in April 2017, and in September 2017 she found out that she was pregnant. The suit says her doctor advised Blakeley not to work long shifts due to her morning sickness and emphasized the plaintiff's need for regular bathroom breaks.

Blakeley alleges she informed the plaintiff that she was pregnant in January 2018 and was terminated. The suit says the defendant accused her of falsifying information.

Blakeley seeks trial by jury, damages, attorney fees, interest, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorneys Ronald R. Huff and Robert E. Richardson Jr. of Richardson Law Firm in Sherman.
