HOUSTON — A Camp County man is suing an employer, alleging he was caused physical injury at a worksite.

Dennis Simmons filed a complaint March 1 in the Harris County District Court against Apache Corporation, alleging gross negligence.

According to the complaint, on March 23, 2018, Simmons was working for Legend Energy Services as a frac hand on a well site operated by Apache. The suit states Simmons had to use heavy hammers to hit pieces of iron so that they could be moved by a crane. The lawsuit alleges a hammer was caused to strike the plaintiff's elbow, which resulted in physical impairment.

Simmons seeks more than $1 million in damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney Muhammad S. Aziz of Abraham Watkins Nichols Sorrels Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
