HOUSTON — A New Mexico oilfield worker is suing his employers, alleging negligence led to workplace injuries.
Darren Quimby filed a complaint March 5 in Harris County District Court against Matador Resources Company, Patterson-UTI Drilling Company LLC and Schlumberger Technology Corporation, alleging negligence and failure to prevent injuries.
According to the complaint, on Feb. 16, Quimby was injured in an oilfield incident when he was exposed to hot and dangerous chemicals in a drilling cellar due to the negligence of the defendants who allowed chemicals to overflow from a conductor pipe.
Quimby seeks a jury trial, damages of more than $1 million, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorneys Nicholas A. Morrow, John D. Sheppard and Daniel E. Sheppard of Morrow & Sheppard LLP in Houston.
