GALVESTON — A Galveston County trasnportation company is suing an employee, alleging breaking an ownership agreement.

Sarah Clay and Vertical Transportation Services LLC filed a complaint March 5 in Galveston County District Court against Jared Lankford, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Clay and her husband opened an elevator business. The suit states that Lankford, who was a friend of the plaintiffs, agreed to be involved in the business. In September 2017, Sarah Clay says she created the business, Vertical Transortation Services, and that ownership and compensation were discussed with Lankford.

The suit says the defendant was told that he would be able to become part-owner if he bought in, however, Lankford never bought into the company and quit.

The plaintiffs seek all damages, attorney fees, court costs and all equitable and just relief. They are represented by attorney R. Talmadge Hammock of Hammock Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
