HOUSTON – A purported defect in a pistol has prompted a local man to bring a personal injury lawsuit against a shooting range, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Aaron Yuhas sued Marksman Indoor Range, Inc. on Mar. 5 in the 281st District Court on claims a Ruger American Pistol he rented at Marksman’s business last year malfunctioned on him.

“(The firearm’s) slide barrel and spring broke apart with the slide barrel striking Mr. Yuhas full force in his face,” the suit says.

The weapon’s manufacturer, Sturm Ruger & Co., Inc., joins Marksman as a co-defendant.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by The Lanier Law Firm, P.C. in Houston.
