HOUSTON – A North Carolina-based doughnut company has been named in a state district lawsuit filed by one of its employees.

In the 8-page complaint filed against Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. on Mar. 7 in the Harris County 157th District Court, Christian Roberts claims that a piece of equipment he was working with shot hot glaze at him.

The glaze reportedly made contact with Roberts’s right forearm and hand, causing him to suffer severe burns.

Joining Krispy Kreme as co-defendants in the litigation are Sybra, LLC and Dulce Restaurants, LLC.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Troy J. Pradia of The Cox Pradia Law Firm, P.L.L.C. in Houston.
