Worker alleges unsafe scaffolding caused injuries

GALVESTON — A worker is suing a home builder, alleging the defendant's negligence caused him to fall from scaffolding at a worksite.

Cody Cloud filed a complaint March 5 in Galveston County District Court against Oak Creek Homes LLC and American Homestar Corporation, alleging negligence and failure to provide a safe environment..

According to the complaint, on April 11, 2017, Cloud was working for the defendants at 405 E. Loop 820 S., Fort Worth, when he suffered serious injuries after falling from a scaffold.

Cloud seeks more than $1 million in damages, attorney fees and court costs. He is represented by attorney John R. Burton of the Law Office of James M. Stanley in Fort Worth.
