Pool worker alleges massive rock dropped on him

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing a masonry business and pool business, alleging he was severely injured by a massive rock that was dropped on his him.

Saul Terrazas filed a complaint Feb. 20 in Harris County Circuit Court against Celerino Silva individually and doing business as Celerino Silva Stone Mason, and Perry Pools & Spas Inc., alleging negligence

According to the complaint, on April 27, 2017, the plaintiff was working on a pool construction project in Harris County near Fry Road and Interstate Highway 290. The suit says Terrazas sustained severe injuries when a supervisor dropped 1,000-pound rock on him, leading to physical pain and mental anguish.

The suit says the defendants failed to provide a safe workplace or proper training.

Terrazas seeks monetary damages between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Loren G. Klitsas of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
