Dental patient alleges she was injured by falling cabinet

HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a dentist, aleging she was injured when a cabinet in the dentist's office fell on her.

Maria Mendez filed a complaint March 19 in Harris County District Court against Harmony Dental, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Mendez was injured Feb. 3, 2018, when she was an invitee of Harmony Dental, 3409 Spender Highway, Suite 100, Pasadena. The plaintiff says she was in a dental chair when a cabinet became loose and fell onto her head.

The lawsuit states Mendez sustained physical pain, mental anguish and physcial impairment, leading to medical expenses.

Mendez seeks actual and compensatory damages between $100,000 and $200,000, costs of court and all just relief. She is represented by attorneys Thomas F. Bickham Jr. and David B. Swick of Bickham Law in Houston.
