HOUSTON – A local land surveyor has been sued by a former employee, who alleged the defendant targeted him for discrimination.
According to recent Harris County District Court records, Rashid Salahian filed suit against Momentum Engineering Co, LLC March. 19.
An ex-senior designer with Momentum, Salahian asserts he was subjected to a hostile work environment because of his Iranian national origin and his age. Salahian’s supervisor allegedly questioned why the respondent would “hire someone like [plaintiff],” as well as mocked his accent.
Court filings state Momentum’s president and owner told Salahian he was old and not needed. The company fired Salahian after he rejected a demotion to part-time status, the suit says.
Consequently, the plaintiff seeks monetary damages and a jury trial. He is represented by the law firm Foster Salisbury PLLC in Houston.
