HOUSTON – James L. “Jim” Doyle, II of the Jim Doyle Law Firm in Houston has been named in a Harris County woman’s legal malpractice lawsuit, recent Harris County District Court records show.

In 55th District Court filings dated Mar. 21, Stacey Thaler asserts that Doyle mishandled her case arising from a 2014 motor vehicle accident. According to the plaintiff, the attorney initiated litigation “in the wrong county and after the expiration of the statute of limitations.”

Doyle allegedly “hid this fact” from Thaler, who eventually discovered the purported malpractice in February 2018.

“As a result of the defendant’s actions/inactions, Ms. Thaler has been damaged,” the original petition says.

Thaler seeks unspecified monetary damages and is represented by Michael D. West of the law firm West & West, LLP in Pasadena.
