HOUSTON — A student is suing her place of education, alleging she was subjected to discrimination and unfair treatment.

Jane Aic-KJ Doe filed a complaint March 11 in Harris County District Court against American Intercontinental University Inc., Shandon M. Tonry and Career Education Corporation, alleging breach of contract, fraud, infliction of emotional distress and conspiracy.

The plaintiff says she selected AIC for a learning program, due to the representations made by the defendant. The defendants, the suit says, then made anti-discriminatory statements and encouraged discrimination against the plaintiff in a number of ways, including sexual discrimination, false accusations and harassment, causing Doe to suffer emotionally.

Doe seeks trial by jury, attorney fees and damages of $5 million. She is represented by attorneys Terry P. Gorman, Chigozie F. Odediran of Gorman Law Firm PLLC in Austin.
