Lawsuits

HOUSTON – A local woman has filed a state district lawsuit against Houston Livestock & Rodeo, Inc. and others in response to an incident during the 90-year-old event two years ago in which she was hit by an animal.

According to recent Harris County District Court records, Tammy Schrack initiated litigation in the 11th District Court on Mar. 25.

Schrack says in the complaint that she was attending the HSLR Steer Auction on Mar. 25, 2017 as a guest to take pictures for the Steer Auction Committee in accordance to a request made by a committee member when a steer struck her from behind.

The plaintiff reportedly sustained “extensive injuries to her neck and back, including multiple fractures to her C7.”

Representing herself, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
