SHERMAN — A Wylie man is suing a Utah business, alleging harassment by a debt collection agency.
Adam Vesely filed a complaint March 26 in the Sherman Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Aldous & Associates PLLC, alleging violations of the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act.
Vesley says he had a certain level of debt from services provided by the creditor. The suit states on Jan. 30, the plaintiff was sent an email from Aldous, which was trying to collect the debt.
The defendant allegedly failed to disclose that the email was from a debt collector. The plaintiff says he has has since suffered harassment from the defendant's communications.
Vesely seeks trial by jury, actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, costs of litigation and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by attorney Jody B. Burton of Lemberg law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
