HOUSTON – A local woman alleges that she was injured almost two years ago during a visit to the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Lisa Franck filed a lawsuit against the track’s owner, Houston Raceway Park, Inc., on Mar. 26 in the 113th District Court over what she asserts was an ankle injury.

According to Franck, she was leaving the property with her family after two hours when “she stepped in a hole in the asphalt, causing her to fall and break her ankle.” She adds that she was not able to move after the fall and had to be taken via ambulance to the hospital.

The defendant allegedly failed to provide warning signs.

“There were no signs anywhere in the area to alert Lisa Franck or others of the hole in the broken asphalt despite the fact that this was where everyone was directed to exit,” the original petition says.

Franck seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Todd G. Riff of the law firm Riff & Associates, P.C. in Houston.
