HOUSTON – Harris County resident Christyn Breckenridge is suing the City of Houston after she purportedly stepped into an uncovered hole in front of a downtown nightclub.

In a lawsuit filed on Mar. 29 in the Harris County 80th District Court, Breckenridge says that the July 26, 2018 incident caused her foot, ankle, and heel “to get stuck in the hole and fall.”

“This uncovered hole in the pedestrian sidewalk constituted a special defect,” the original petition states.

The defendant allegedly did not place any warning signs.

Breckenridge claims that she suffered injuries to her left ankle, both patellas, and both feet.

She seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial and is represented by Farrah Martinez of Houston.
