HOUSTON – An auto parts retailer is facing a slip and fall lawsuit from a shopper, according to recent Harris County District Court records.

Thomas Hanks initiated litigation against O’Reilly Auto Enterprises, LLC on Apr. 1 in the 164th District Court, alleging that he was injured at the defendant’s store located at 4600 Lockwood Dr. in Houston last month.

Hanks recalls walking to speak to a mechanic when he “slipped and fell on a cardboard box that had oil underneath.”

Court papers argue that O’Reilly either created or failed to correct condition in question, insisting that the plaintiff knew nothing about it.

He seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Matthew Menter of the Daspit Law Firm in Houston is representing the complainant.
