Motorist alleges Galveston County employee caused crash

GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing the county, alleging she was struck by a negligent driver who worked for the defendant.

Kylee Woytek filed a complaint March 27 in the Galveston County District Court against Galveston County, alleging negligence and reckless driving. 

According to he complaint, Woytek was lawfully driving on the South Gulf Freeway Service Road Street in Galveston County on Sept. 11, 2017. The suit alleges Monty Meguess, who was working for Galveston County, failed to stop in a reasonable amount of time and struck Woytek's vehicle.

The suit says Woytek sustained injuries, pain, mental anguish and physical impairment.

Woytek seeks judgment between $100,000 and $200,000, costs of court, special and actual damages and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Jordan A. Glaze, Josh Garrett and Andrew M. Birdsell of Glaze Garrett in Gilmer.
