HOUSTON — A Bexar County woman is suing a Houston townhome, alleging that she was caused to trip and fall on damaged steps.

Freda Davis filed a complaint March 27 in Harris County District Court against Kalitera Bellaria LLC doing business as Bellaria Townhomes, Kalitera Assets LLC and Crandall Act Management Company, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Davis, who is 75, was invited to the defendant's property, 2002 Place Rebecca Lane Unit P6 Houston, on Aug. 12, 2017. The suit says Davis tripped and fell on stairs that were severly dilapidated. The plaintiff was exercising reasonable care, the suit says, but the defendants failed to maintain the stairs in a safe condition, which resulted in Davis suffering severe injuries.

Davis seeks trial by jury, monetary damages of more than $1 million, costs of court and all equjitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Christopher K. Fletcher and Keith M. Fletcher of Simmons & Fletcher in Houston.
