HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing the operator of gas stations and convenience stores, alleging failure to pay overtime wages.

Kevin Morris filed a complaint April 1 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against East Mount Business LLC and Rahim Momin, alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The suit says Morris was employed as a security guard by the defendant from June 17, 2018, to March 22, 2019. During his employment, Morris says, he regularly worked 63-hour weeks but he was never paid overtime wages as required by the FLSA for work of more than 40 hours per week. Instead, the suit alleges, the plaintiff was paid a fixed wage.

Morris seeks trial by jury, payment of overtime wages, interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Salar Ali Ahmed of Ali S. Ahmed PC in Houston.
