Construction company alleges customers owe nearly $100,000

GALVESTON — A construction and roofing company is suing a Dickinson couple, alleging failure to pay off the balance due of nearly $100,000 for services delivered.

Contender Construction & Roofing Group filed a complaint April 4 in Galveston County District Court against Sondra O. Browne and Charles W. Browne, alleging breach of contract, promissory estoppel, fraud, aiding and abetting, ratification.

According to the complaint, Contender Constrcution agreed to repair the Browne home, 2704 Yorktown Drive, Dickinson, that was damaged in Hurricane Harvey. The plaintiff says it fully fulfilled its obligations but the Brownes have failed to pay and is indebted for the balance of $97,486.90.

Contender Construction & Roofing Group seeks exemplary damages, court costs and attorney fees, as well as monetary damages between $100,000 and $200,000 and all other fit relief. They are represented by attorneys Fernando F. Valdés and Christian G. Alba of Valdés & Alba in Alvin.
