HOUSTON — A  Houston chemical company is suing an insurance company, alleging a less-than-expected payout.

Oxyde Chemicals Inc., filed a complaint April 8 in Harris County District Court against Demetrius Navarro and Navarro Insurance Group LP, alleging negligent misrepresentation.

Oxyde Chemicals alleges it took out a life insurance policy that was brokered by Navarro Insurance. The plaintiff says it expected a 20% dividend but the dividend was half that amount, causing Oxyde to suffer monetary losses.

Oxyde Chemicals seeks between $200,000 and $1 million in damages, attorney fees, interest, court costs and all other just relief. It is represented by attorneys Forrest J. Wynn and Maddie Pipitone of Hicks David Wynn PC in Houston.
