Lawsuits

GALVESTON — A Louisiana man is suing operators of an offshore platfrom worksite, alleging he was injured due to slipping on stairs.

Corey Bailey Jr. filed a complaint April 16 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Apache Shelf Inc., alleging negligence and gross negligence.

According to the complaint on Nov. 26, 2018, Bailey was working as an assistant radiographer on the defendant's platform at Ship Shoal 277 in the Gulf of Mexico. The suit says he was seriously injured and disabled when he slipped on metal stairs on the platform.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to properly maintain the platform and ensure that it was free from defects.

Bailey seeks trial by jury, attorney' fees, court costs, interest, actual damages and all other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by attorneys Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine of Spagnoletti Law Firm in Houston.
