GALVESTON — A Brazoria County man is suing a Kemah car restoration company, alleging failure to restore his Jeep as represented.

Michael Knuckey of Pearland filed a complaint April 18 in Galveston County District Court against Chipz and Dentz Away LLC and Joseph Peters, alleging fraud, negligent misrepresentation and violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act,

According to the complaint, Knuckey contracted Chipz and Dentz in October 2017 for a restoration of his 1976 Jeep J20 truck. The suit states the defendants said they would restore the Jeep to "show quality" by March 2018.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to perform the work as they stated they would and did not complete the restoration in the stated time frame.

Knuckey seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, attorney fees, actual damages, costs of suit and all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Rich Melendez of Melendez Law PC in Houston.
